Guy has had a varied career in classical music, education and the banking sector. During the 1990s, he sang with The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company, the choir of Christ Church, Oxford, and took the role of Orville Wright in Transatlantic Films’ The First Flight.
Whilst working as Information Manager in the European Telecoms Investment Banking Team at Deutsche Bank, he was also founding Director of the Alfred Hitchcock Society in Leytonstone, London, where Hitchcock was born.
A desire to make more of a contribution to society led Guy to switch careers again, becoming a classroom teacher in a primary school in Wiltshire. He devoted his spare time to local sustainability and children’s rights issues: he ran the Frome Electric Car Project with Luke Wilde, converting old cars into EVs; and in 2011, he submitted a proposal to the Department for Education to open Frome Free School: an all-through, democratic school with an emphasis on Forest Education.
Guy is lead vocalist with close-harmony quartet The B Naturals, an adviser to the Lumiar School near Bradford-on-Avon and in 2018 he published a book of Wiltshire Folk Songs for choirs
Since joining the team at twentyfifty, he has helped the company become a Registered B Corporation (B Corp), set up a company intranet, taken over the bookkeeping and accounts... and written a piano accompaniment to the company song "The Road to 2050".
