Claire is a Business and Human Rights Consultant based in London. She brings expertise on business development, responsible sourcing, social auditing and human rights law.
She has worked across the apparel and footwear, food & beverage, and cosmetics supply chains and has extensive on-the-ground experience in producer countries, with a specialist knowledge of African economies.
Claire previously held the role of Head of Operations at Proudly Made in Africa, leading their work supporting suppliers in Sub-Saharan Africa to enter the export market. This included responsible sourcing; business development; international supply chain management; development and delivery of training and capacity-building programmes; and high-level advocacy. Among her achievements in this role was the update and re-launch of the organisation’s responsible sourcing criteria.
She has also worked with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, where she led their social enterprise management consulting, and had responsibility for their global safeguarding strategy.
Claire is an experienced educator and trainer, having worked as a university tutor, as a trainer for adult volunteers; and as a Development Education specialist delivering lectures and workshops for corporates, NGOs and universities.
She holds an LLM in International Human Rights; a BA in International Relations; and a professional diploma in EU Studies. She is also certified as an SA8000 social accountability auditor.
