Ray Burton Non-Executive Chair

Ray Burton

Ray is a chartered accountant with nearly 40 years' professional experience and a record of public service.  He has a wealth of knowledge of businesses of all shapes and sizes, an understanding of not-for-profit organisations, and a specialism in dispute resolution.

He is a former audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has advised businesses ranging from multinationals to management buyouts and family-owned concerns on acquisitions, disposals and stock exchange transactions in the UK and overseas.  More recently, he joined PwC's dispute resolution and investigation practice.  He has been an advisor and board member of a number of education, local and national government organisations and charities.

Following his retirement from PwC in 2000, Ray has created a portfolio of roles with a number of non-executive directorships.  In 2003, he became Chairman of the Governors of the University of West of England. 

Ray graduated in Politics and Sociology from the University of Birmingham.  He believes passionately that for businesses to thrive in the 21st Century, embracing human rights and sustainability makes sound commercial sense.
