Emily Richards Associate consultant
Emily has 5 years experience working on the engagement between business and the international human rights framework; developing bespoke methodologies in line with John Ruggie’s Protect, Respect, Remedy framework to help organisations better understand their role within the human rights and business discourse. As part of this she has developed an integrated social and human rights impact and risk assessment process which has been rolled out in both the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ghana.
Additional experience includes working on human rights and social impact and risk assessments, social audits, and the review and development of resettlement action plans. She spent much of 2008 working in Johannesburg during which time she worked alongside the Deputy Director for Business and Human Rights at the South Africa Human Rights Commission. She has previous experience working on social and environmental issues with government agencies, NGOs and companies including the Climate Care Trust and the African Institute for Corporate Citizenship (AICC).
Emily has a BA (Hons) in International Politics from the University of Leeds and a MA (Hons) in Human Rights from the University of London
