Hannah Temple Research Analyst
Hannah is a recent graduate of the University of Manchester where she obtained a Masters degree in International Political Economy with Distinction. The focus of her MA dissertation concerned a critical governmentality examination into the role of civil society within the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers of Nicaragua.
Between her undergraduate degree in Geography, also at the University of Manchester, and her postgraduate study, Hannah took a year to work, travel and volunteer. After working as the Green Coordinator at Ghyll Manor Hotel in Rusper, Hannah travelled in South America, Asia and Southern Spain for a total of six months. The highlights of this experience include a three-week voluntary placement in the Peruvian Andes, Spanish classes in Peru, Chile and Seville, zip-wiring around the jungles of Laos in search of gibbons and kite surfing in Tarifa. Not to mention sky diving, white-water rafting, ice climbing and ‘Death Road’ biking!
When not risking her life, Hannah’s focus lies in finding ways to improve the lives of the world’s poorest. She believes that one of the most promising and sustainable ways of achieving real change in this regard is by trying to reconcile business and public interests.
So far Hannah’s work at TwentyFifty has involved industry research, report-writing and administrative support. She is also involved in writing a number of articles due to be published on the business leaders’ forum CriticalEye and is about to undertake work with Anglo American producing a case study on integrating human rights principles into business practice for the UN Global Compact Office.
