TwentyFifty Ltd and the German UN Global Compact Network have launched an instrument to help companies assess their capacity to implement the corporate responsibility to respect based on Ruggie's Guiding Principles

Download the capacity assessment here.

The capacity assessment instrument allows companies to assess and compare their management capacities to implement the corporate responsibility to respect human rights. This instrument has been developed by TwentyFifty Ltd in cooperation with the companies in the Human Rights Peer Learning Group of the Global Compact Network Germany. Its development has been supported financially by the Foundation of the Global Compact Network Germany.

The network is publishing this tool as ‘work in progress’ so as to make it available for others to road-test, review and comment upon. The participants in the Human Rights Peer Learning Group and other companies in the German Network will be applying this tool within their own companies between June and November 2011, and this application will inform subsequent revisions.
This assessment is designed to:
·         Apply to companies from different sectors and of different sizes,
·         Provide a brief overall assessment of a company’s capacity to practice human rights due diligence,
·         Enable companies to compare themselves against others and allow for progression over time.
