TwentyFifty has been appointed by the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Health to engage with UK businesses and determine the level of understanding and awareness that exists about human rights.
The project is creating an understanding of how UK businesses engage with human rights in order to guide the development of a business and human rights dialogue in the UK. It is providing input to the UK Government's submission to the business and human rights inquiry launched by the UK Parliament's Joint Committee on Human Rights, and the report will be made available to Professor John Ruggie, the UN Special Representative on business and human rights. The project is overseen by a cross-governmental steering group.
The report will be launched on 19 October 2009 at a dialogue between the government and private sector on the report's finding and proposed next steps. Full details will follow soon.
