Clare
Lissaman Clare has worked in corporate
responsibility since 2000. Her core expertise is in developing and implementing
strategic approaches to social auditing and compliance with labour standards
in international supply chains. She has lived and worked in Hong Kong and greater China
and speaks Mandarin fluently. Clare also speaks French fluently and has
some understanding of German and Spanish. Clare has completed Social Accountability
and Auditor Training and EMS Auditor Training with BVQI. In addition to
conducting social audits, she has trained buyers and auditors in major
corporations and leading audit providers. Recent assignments have included advising retail and
fashion clients on ethical trading in China, development and project managing
the implementation of an ethical procurement policy for trading in China,
developing ethical assessment protocols and managing ongoing ethical issues
for a fashion retailer, and developing a social compliance programme for
the Fairtrade Foundation. For 4 years, from 2001-5 Clare was Director of Rugmark
UK. In this time; she managed the UK office for this social labelling
and certification initiative, worked with UK carpet traders and increased
use of RUGMARK by 40% year-on-year, led the RUGMARK International group
on accountability and verification, carried out media work leading to
press coverage and represented RUGMARK at national and international fora. Clare has been engaged with TwentyFifty Limited since 2005. She studied Oriental Studies at Wadham College, Oxford University and was based in Hong Kong from 1994 – 2000. |
