Supply Chain | Global Sourcing of Agricultural Products
____________________________________

In line with their strong ethical commitment, and reflecting both public concern and NGO scrutiny, a global food company wished to find a cost effective mechanisms to identify and manages risk in their key supply chains, to cover all agricultural ingredients. This work coincided with the creation of a new approach within the company to global sourcing and a desire to implement responsible procurement practices throughout the company.

In partnership with the client we identified that the most effective function to work with would be the quality assurance staff, who are based worldwide in the company’s own factories and have extensive engagement with supplier factories. We developed a three–pronged approach: an Ethical Sourcing Assessment Tool, for use with the company’s suppliers; a web-based training programme for QA staff on ethical sourcing; and a one-day training workshop to be delivered by local staff.
Subsequently, we also developed a web-based training programme for Buyers.
